Howard Pikoff holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in behavioral medicine. From 1975-2020, he divided his time between clinical work – in private practice and at The Buffalo General Hospital – and duties as the Psychology Librarian of the State University of New York at Buffalo. His writing focuses largely on the overpsychologizing of poorly understood medical disorders, including chronic pain, migraine, and fibromyalgia.
